The answer is D. The Dred Scott case was a fight over civil rights. Dred scott wanted to be free since his owner had previously been in a free state. The judges voted in favor of the slave states. They believed that slaves were property and property could not be taken from its owner without just reason.  <span />

If the group uses violence, many people would think of it as an uprising instead of a group of people trying to get equality
