Starvation is related to Rukmani in the way that Rukmani blames her family for Old Granny's death by starvation.

Nectar in a Sieve is Kamala Markandaya’s first published novel which follows  the story of one woman living in poverty in rural India during a time of great change.

Rukmani is the narrator of the novel and she is described as hard-working and supportive wife, daughter, and mother.  Rukmani felt really sad because of the fact that not even a tenth of those seeking help can get it, even Old Granny who lived in the street and died of starvation: her body was found outside, on a path near a well.

C. The story is about someone who comes upon an island and the one person who lives there enjoys hunting human flesh so anyone who stumbles upon his island he makes them make a choice on whether they would like to participate in the hunt (which they were able to leave if they won but rarely anyone ever won) or if they would like to be tortured by his “minions” in his chamber.

olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

It seems to me that this piece would either be an example of imagery, or an example of a metaphor.

Explanation:

An allusion means to reference someone else's work. Ambiguity is like a play on words. It just seems to me that this would either be imagery or metaphor over the other options.
