Which table represents a linear function? Which quadratic function is represented by the graph?
IgorC [24]

The first table is a quadratic function while the second table is a linear function.

<h3>How to Interpret Function Tables?</h3>

1) For the first table, we have;

x y

0 5

1 0

2 -3

3 -4

4 -3

x = 2  and x = 4 have same value of y = -3  and as such it will be a Quadratic Function.

y = x²  - 6x + 5

2) For the second table, we have;

x y

2 5

5 14

6 17

8 23

10 29

This table is a Linear function because  slope is same and equal to 3 all through. Thus, the equation is y = 3x - 1

3) For the third table, we have;

x y

-3 8

-2 4

-1 2

0 1

1 0.5

This is an exponential function because equation can be modelled by;

y = 2⁻ˣ

how many cubic yards of concrete will be needed to replace a section of sidewalk 150ft long, 5ft wide and 4 inches thick
zepelin [54]

4 inches = 1/3 foot

So the volume of that section is  (150ft x 5ft x 1/3 ft) = 250 cubic feet

The whole trick to this question is knowing
how many cubic feet make 1 cubic yard.

1 yard = 3 ft

 (1yd x 1 yd x 1yd) = 1 yd³

(3ft x 3ft x 3ft) = (3 ft)³ = (3)³ x (ft)³  =  27 ft³    <===

For the sidewalk project,

               250 ft³  =  (250 / 27)  =  9.26 yard³ .

I think the way concrete contractors operate, they'll
want you to order and pay for 10 cubic yards.
