THIS IS USING ELIMINATION

1. 2x + 3y = 13

+

2. 5x - 3y = 1

7x = 14

divide by 7 on both sides

3. x = 2

put the 2 back in to the x of the EASIEST equation to solve for so use equation 1

2 (2) + 3y = 13

4 + 3y = 13

-4 -4

3y = 9

divide by 3 on both sides

y = 3

put it back in to equation number 2 to chech

5 (2) - 3 (3) = 1 ?

10 - 9

= 1 it is checked and is true. it is correct so the answer is D
