What was the single most factor that led to two different ways of life in the North and South?
Marianna [84]
A big difference between the North and the South’s ways of life that caused tension was Industrialization vs. Agriculture. The Northerners couldn’t understand how life was in the South. The South argued they needed slaves for workers. The increase in religion awakenings in the North caused them to see how morally wrong slavery was.

Since people are not equal in their knowledge, skills, and abilities, why, if at all, should everyone have equal political right
Gennadij [26K]
People need to believe they have equal social and political rights, else there would be mass protests, revolutions and anarchy. Whether they actually exist in real life is irrelevant here, only the belief matters.

The primary difference in the social structures of humans and animals is the forced imposition of order in human society, leading to a more 'collective' society, instead of the usual 'survival of the fittest/law of the jungle' structure. And the concept of equal rights is necessary to achieve this imposition of order.
