Answer : The value of x and y is, 2 and 3 respectively.

Explanation :

The given equations are:

y=x+1      .........(1)

y=2x-1    ..........(2)

Using substitution method:

Now we are putting the equation 2 in 1, we get the value of 'x'.

2x-1=x+1

2x-x=1+1

x=2

Now we are putting the value of 'x' in 1, we get the value of 'y'.

y=x+1

y=2+1

y=3

Thus, the value of x and y is, 2 and 3 respectively.
