Hi! The correct answer is D because the shapes moved to a different quadrant across the x-axis.
It didn’t move down 2 units or get reflected across the y-axis, thus making D the only reasonable answer.
I hope I helped!

In recent years more people have been working past the age of 65. In 2005, 27% of people aged 65–69 worked. A recent report from
Vinil7 [7]

Answer:

a) point estimate is 30%

b) null and alternative hypothesis would be

H_{0}: p=27%

H_{a}: p>27%

c) We reject the null hypothesis, percentage working people aged 65-69 had increased

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>a. </em>

Point estimate would be the proportion of the working people aged 65–69 to the sample size and equals \frac{180}{600}=0.3 ie 30%

<em>b.</em>

Let p be the proportion of people aged 65–69 who is working. OECD claims that percentage working had increased. Then null and alternative hypothesis would be

H_{0}: p=27%

H_{a}: p>27%

<em>c.</em>

z-score of the sample proportion assuming null hypothesis is:

\frac{p(s)-p}{\sqrt{\frac{p*(1-p)}{N} } } where

  • p(s) is the sample proportion of working people aged 65–69 (0.3)
  • p is the proportion assumed under null hypothesis. (0.27)
  • N is the sample size (600)

then z=\frac{0.3-0.27}{\sqrt{\frac{0.27*0.73}{600} } } = 1.655

Since one tailed p value of 1.655 = 0.048 < 0.05, sample proportion is significantly different than the proportion assumed in null hypothesis. Therefore we reject the null hypothesis.

What is the answerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Alecsey [184]

Answer:

$1559.40

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Find the perimeter of the garden

14\frac{2}{3} +  14\frac{2}{3} + 10\frac{1}{3} + 10\frac{1}{3} = 50 yd

2. Convert to feet

1 yd = 3ft

50 x 3 = 150

50 yd = 150 ft

3. Divide by 2.5 to find out how many sections are needed

150/2.5 = 60 sections

4.  Multiply by 25.99

60 x 25.99 = 1559.4

It will cost $1559.40

A manufacturer is studying the effects of cooking temperature, cooking time, and type of cooking oilfor making potato chips. Thr
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

(a) The total number of combinations that can be applied for making potato chips is 36.

(b) The number of combinations that will be used for each type of oil is 12.

(c) Permutations are not an issue because order does not matter.

Step-by-step explanation:

The effects of cooking temperature, cooking time and cooking oil is studied for making potato chips.

The number of different temperatures applied is, <em>n</em> (T) = 3.

The number of different times taken is, <em>n</em> (t) = 4.

The number of different oils used is, <em>n</em> (O) = 3.

If an assignment can be done in <em>n</em>₁ ways and if for this assignment another assignment can be done in <em>n</em>₂ ways then these two assignments can be performed in (<em>n</em>₁ × <em>n</em>₂) ways.

(a)

Compute the total number of combinations that can be applied for making potato chips as follows:

Total number of combinations for making chips = n (T) × n (t) × n (O)

                                                                               =3\times4\times 3\\=36

Thus, the total number of combinations that can be applied for making potato chips is 36.

(b)

To make potato chips 4 different temperatures are used and 3 different oils are used.

Each of the oil type is cooked in 4 different temperatures.

So the number of ways to select each oil type is,

<em>n</em> (T) × <em>n</em> (O) = 4\times3=12

Thus, the number of combinations that will be used for each type of oil is 12.

(c)

Permutation is the arrangement of objects in a specified order.

Since in this case ordering of the the three effects, i.e. temperature. time and oil type is not important, permutations are not an issue.

Consider the line y = x . If the line is dilated by a factor of 1 3 , what is the equation of the resulting line? If the resulti
ella [17]

Answer:

The resulting equation after dilation: y=x.

The resulting equation after translation: y=x-1.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equation of line

y=x

If a line passes through the center of dilation and dilated by factor k, then the equation of line is remains same.

It is given that the line is dilated by a factor of 1/3. The center of dilation is not given so the center of dilation is (0,0).

At x=0,

y=0

It means the line passes through the point (0,0). Since the  line passes through the center of dilation, therefore the equation of line is remains same.

y=x

The translation is defined as

y=x+b

If b>0, then the graph shifts b units up and if b<0, then the graph shifts b units down.

The resulting line is translated 1 unit down.

y=x-1

Therefore, the equation of the resulting line is y=x-1.
