Motion sickness comes in many forms, not just seasickness. Ninety percent of the human race is susceptible to motion sickness of

one kind or another. Some people become sick when they sit in the backseat of a car, others cannot read or look at a map in any kind of moving vehicle. People get motion sickness on airplanes, motorcycles, amusement park rides, and even on camels! Scientist have learned that motion sicknessoccurs when the brain is trying to make sense of a situation and there are too many conflicting messages. While the eyes are sending one message, the ears are trying to send a message about balance. The skin and bone joints, sensitive to air pressure, send another message.
Many people who have experienced violent motion sickness try to avoid travel. But that is not always possible. So travellers should employ some well-known strategies to avoid getting sick. The most useful strategy concerns food : eat a light meal before travelling and bring along a packet of plain soda crackers to snack on regularly. Avoid carbonated bevereges, high-fat food, and spices. Care in choosing the location of your seat is another important strategy. In a car, sit at the front and keep your eyes fixed on the horizon.

People who still got sick after trying these strategies can try medical help. Some rely on over-the counter medications, although some of them can make you sleepy. Others use sipmple ginger capsules to settle their stomach. A large number of travellers use pressure bands on their wrists. It is not clear how these bands work, but they do prevent motion sickness.

A suitable title for the text is...
a.Motion Sickness
b.Effect of motion sickness
c.Susceptibility to motion sickness
d.inability to avoid motion sickness
e.The worst kind of motion sickness

Evaluate the culture presented in the story. What details do you notice that show this story is not taking place in the United S
Viktor [21]

Answer:

Descriptions of the setting, particularly the names of the streets, indicate "Araby" does not take place in the United States.*

*See explanation for a more in-depth answer

Explanation:

There are subtle ‘hints,’ or details, presented throughout the story that show “Araby” is not taking place in the United States. For starters, the story states these two specific street names: “North Richmond Street” and “Buckingham Street.” Now, these are two street names that America does have. There is a Richmond Street located in Palmdale, California and there is a Buckingham Street in Fullerton, California. Based on this information alone one might (unknowingly & incorrectly) assume that the story is taking place in America. However, there is one sentence in the story that reveals this story could not have taken place in the United States. Read the first sentence of “Araby”:

“North Richmond Street, being blind, was a quiet street except at the hour when the Christian Brothers' School set the boys free.”

According to this sentence, there is a Christian Brothers’ School located on North Richmond Street. Only one place in the world has an all boys school located on a street called North Richmond. That place is Dublin, Ireland. Therefore, based on the gathered information, it is safe to say that this story takes place in Dublin, Ireland; not the United States.

FUN FACT:

The Christian Brothers’ School on North Richmond Street changed its name to O’Connell Secondary School.

Why should only the main ideas appear on a slide for a presentation?
Sauron [17]
Have you ever watched a dull movie? Have you been bored watching the teacher present slides? Well imagine the teacher presenting every single slide, and each slide has over 1000+ words. Yeah, you would be bored. This is why using the main idea in a presentation is needed; it prevents long slides that could take hours to finish, but it shortens the slide to a point where it can be easily understood without unnecessary detail.
