Which revision best corrects the vague pronoun in the sentence below?
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

c) Jack will not understand the club’s decision unless he talks to Christopher.

Explanation:

A vague pronoun is a pronoun that does not clearly indicate which antecedent (or noun) it is referring to. All options, except option C, have a vague pronoun because in these sentences it is not clear whether “he” (the pronoun) is referring to the antecedent “Jack” or “Christopher.”

Option C, on the other hand, is the one that corrects the vague pronoun because it clearly states that the pronoun “he” refers to “Jack” only.

Write a paragraph about your favorite dish using descriptive adjectives.
8090 [49]

Answer:

Last summer, I was delighted to spend the vacation with my family in Italy. When we arrived at the majestic hotel where we would spend our holidays, you could tell from our faces that we were famished and exhausted. After taking a cold and relaxing shower, I joined my family at the dinning hall, to enjoy a sumptuous meal of Spaghetti Bolognaise. It was a mouth-watering dish, filled with different shapes, sizes, and colors of garnishing. It was a fantastic meal and I could tell that the rest of the crew also enjoyed it.

Explanation:

Descriptive adjectives such as the ones highlighted in bold above are used to describe and modify the nouns and pronouns used in a sentence. For example, in the third sentence, the noun Spaghetti Bolognaise was modified by the descriptive adjective, sumptuous.

Reading Comprehension "Who Understands Me but Me".
Akimi4 [234]

Answer:

a. perseverance

e. confidence

Explanation:

The above two qualities are what the speaker most clearly display as a result of the experiences he describes in lines 1-14 of "Who Understands Me but Me".

From the speaker's speech, we can deduce that the speaker portrays perseverance and confidence. One will discover that his speech reveals that he was persevering despite the harsh condition he was subjected to.

He said that they turn water off, so he lived without water. He also said that they took his heart and rip it open, so he lived without heart and so on.

This shows that despite what they did to him, he persevered and had confidence.
