Jonathan Swift, Alexander Pope, is among the popular 18th-century satire writers in England. Satire as a literary direction was popular due to the great presence of false heroism, false morality, foolishness among the population, especially the nobility. These writers described real-life events where, due to the strict application of some convictions, there were very tragic situations that had serious consequences for the Catholic population, as well as absurd comical situations, where insignificant things made laughter in public.
