How are sediments created and how do those sediments make new landforms?

Sediments are made when old rocks weather, causing pieces and fragments of the rock to break off. Erosion then carries this sediment away to other areas, most commonly low-lying ones. Over time, as more sediments pile on top of older ones, these layers compact and cement together, forming sedimentary rocks. These rocks make up most of the earth's land forms. Hope this helps!
