Rather blood flows back into the  Right  atrium ,(regurgitation,) through the these valves   during ventricular contraction ( systole)of the Right Ventricle instead to the pulmonary circulation which  reduces blood flow leading  to volume overload  in  the heart. Eventually this  affects systemic circulation,
