Unlike the influence the travels of other explorers, such as Marco Polo had, Battuta's travels only had a very modest impact on the world until the 19th century. Despite not providing much influence to other explorers, Battuta's accounts of his travels provide a gateway to the civilizations of the muslim world during the age.
