It would be formal because instead of saying "Thank you so much, thanks for choosing___!" it would be Thank you for choosing

Imagine that you are invited to a formal party, of course you need to wear something formal, but you have nothing to wear that is formal so you wear your casual clothes. The time you get there, the owner does not let you in because you wore casual clothes(worst example ever). Just like clothes, words are also important. So instead of saying "Going to the mall, whatca need?" it would be translated to: I will be going to the mall, is there something you would like me to pick up for you?
