The most used stylistic devices in the essay
Either can be used, depending on whether the actual journalist/reporter is male or female. In general terms, though, the masculine (un) is used.
1. Hace 12 años que estudio español.
2. Hace 7 años que uso la computadora.
3. Hace 5 años que estudie el ingles.
4. Hace 2 meses que no hable con mi profesor de español.
Tu no lo harías sería la respuesta correcta
