Howard Johnson is a hotel chain that is based in New Jersey, the United States wherein its hotel now expands throughout all the states in America and also across some areas in Canada. The word "renaissance" that it meant would be the establishment near it named "Renaissance."

It had also once been a chain of restaurants for over 90 years and its name was widely known for that alone. Founded by Howard Deering Johnson, it was the largest restaurant chain in the U.S. throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with more than 1,000 combined company-owned and franchised outlets.
