His reforms created shortages and prices soared. Factories that could not survive without government help closed leading to high unemployment. the reforms were denounced by old line communists and bureaucrats whose jobs were threatened. Problems increased as glasnost fed unrest in the multinational soviet empire. the Baltic republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania regained full independence. Germayne and Roland and Romania and Bulgaria broke out of the soviet orbit.Hard liners tried to overthrow him only to further weaken Gorbachev. as more soviet republics declared independence he resigned as president. and after 74 years, the soviet union ceased to exist.

Anne- Frank is a girl who hid behind a bookshelf with her family durning the Holocaust . Her family and her were Jews so they were in danger . Along with them lived a doctor and another family . near the end of the book , they catch their family and almost everyone dies . Her dad makes it out alive and publishes her diary which is the book you’re reading :)
some background information - the Holocaust was a large group of Natzis hunting down Jews . If they found them , they took them to concentration camps and basically made them do child labor . Most died there by getting poisoned in the “showers”.
