Anarel [89]
Black Tuesday hits Wall Street as investors trade 16,410,030 shares on the New York Stock Exchange in a single day. Billions of dollars were lost, wiping out thousands of investors, and stock tickers ran hours behind because the machinery could not handle the tremendous volume of trading.

What was the significance of the Long Parliament?
loris [4]

The correct answer is the following: option A. The significance of the Long Parliament was that its struggles with Charles I led to the English Civil War. Charles I was the monarch who summoned both Short and Long Parliaments in 1640 due to the fact he needed to raise money to wage the second Bishop's war against the Scotts. But when the Parliament started taking down the King's advisers, passed an act stating it was forbidden its dissolution without members consent, the friction between the Parliament and Charles I started to increase.

In January 1642, Charles I tried to detained 5 members of the Long Parliament. A year later in the midst of the tension between them both, the English Civil War broke out.

Why did many people die during the indian removal?
Ganezh [65]

Hello there!

The reason why so many Indians died during the Indian removal was because the thousand mile journey they took to the Indian territory was deadly, due to the lack of support from the government. This would be known as the "Trail of Tears."

This journey that the Indians took was by walk, they didn't have cars or airplanes during the time, so they were forced out of their own land to the Indian territory, which was thousands of miles away form where they were settled. In the walk, they mostly walked barefooted, and were chained to each other. During the walk to the Indian territory, they mostly encountered starvation, thirst, and no help from the government. They weren't supplied any food, or other supplies to help them through the journey, which caused thousands of deaths in the journey, and only a few survived. This showed that the government didn't care for the people. That's why it's known as the "Trail of Tears" and "Death."
