Right now, I'm really angry because my teammates weren't contributing to the team project, and I was the only one working on it.

It's due tomorrow. Let me explain what the project is:
We had to answer 4 questions for a site we chose. We chose a site called "Wattpad" because I'm most familiar with it. We then had to share a google slides out teammates, so I did.

As I started on the project, I glanced over to see one of them playing a game. He had 2 tabs so he could switch onto Wattpad when the teacher was walking around. I didn't mind it at first. But then 20 minutes passed, and he was STILL playing that game. I angrily sighed, knowing he wasn't gonna do anything. He then was banging the table in every 60 seconds, and huffing. It was quite cringy and annoying. He could sense that I was mad because he wasn't doing anything, so he tried to seem mad so I wouldn't be mad but instead scared.

The other was also playing games. Then ALL OF A SUDDEN, he FINALLY decided to work on the project when class was gonna end. He stared at the screen for a long time, and wrote a few words. Yeah, I appreciated his tiny amount of working for actually trying, but his writing wasn't the best. Here's exactly what he wrote:

Question: After working with the application, what are some positives and negatives your team has found?

His answer: "A pro that i have for Wattpad is you can search up any book that you want and a con that i have is that they should have a tutorial about the website and the color because its just look boring"

They're hopeless. And I don't want to be a snitch, but it's gonna be all of my work, meaning that they're gonna claim the credit that I stayed up at 2 AM to do. They're gonna get a grade that I worked really hard for. But I also don’t want them to fail the class.

What should I do?

Answer: really it depends because your friends shouldn’t do that to you so you need to tell them that that wasn’t cool and they needed to help you on that project because you did do all the project I would tell your teacher because if they are real or good friends they will understand and it will teach them to participate in group projects. But if you let them get away with it it could become a constant thing and they would take advantage of you every time you had a group project so I would definitely tell them and the teacher.

which excerpt from Frankenstein best reflects the 19th-century concern that scientists pursue their studies at any personal or m
Thepotemich [5.8K]

In this excerpt, we can read the conclusion of Victor Frankenstein about science: in the 19th century, scientists pursue their studies at any personal or moral cost:

"With a confusion of ideas  only to be accounted for by my extreme youth and my want  of a guide on such matters, I had retrod the steps of nowledge  along the paths of time and exchanged the discoveries  of recent inquirers for the dreams of forgotten alchemists.  Besides, I had a contempt for the uses of modern natural  philosophy. It was very different when the masters of the  science sought immortality and power; such views, although  futile, were grand; but now the scene was changed.  The ambition of the inquirer seemed to limit itself to the annihilation  of those visions on which my interest in science  was chiefly founded. I was required to exchange chimeras of  boundless grandeur for realities of little worth.

Such were my reflections during the first two or three  days of my residence at Ingolstadt, which were chiefly spent  in becoming acquainted with the localities and the principal  residents  (..)"

When the objective of the science experiments is only the recognition, the need for making something original and spectacular, to be regarded by other scientists the results could be terrible. For example, the creation of the poor monster of Frankenstein story.
