Natural selection is a differential survival and reproduction of the organisms which exhibit a beneficial phenotypic trait. The sexual selection is a kind of natural selection in which the organism having the better phenotypic traits likely to attract the mates. Thus will be able to reproduce and pass of the traits to the next generation. The peacock is a species which performs the sexual selection. The male members of the peacock population posses showy feathers which allow them to attract the female members for mating. Thus the ones which are capable to reproduce will pass on their fancy feather genes to the next generations.
