Oceanography usually refers to the study of the physical and the biological parameters of the seas and oceans and also the processes (including the factors that are responsible for these processes) that takes place in the oceans. A person studying oceanography is often known as an oceanographer.
Wave pattern is included in the oceanography as it deals with the study of waves and the patterns in which these waves are generated and move in the ocean body. These ocean patterns are generated both on the surface and below the surface, due to the prevailing wind, Coriolis effect. For example, the up-welling of the deep ocean current that commonly occurs in the western coastal regions of the continents, bringing the nutrient-rich water to the upper surface.
