HELP I WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST IT COULD MAKE OR BREAK ME! First step: Select two different groups that have faced discrimination in

our country’s history. If you are having trouble thinking of groups who have faced discrimination I would suggest going with African Americans, women, Native Americans, Asian Americans, or other immigrants
Second step: For each of group that you picked above, you need to describe how they have been discriminated against. This can be one big paragraph, or divide it into two smaller paragraphs with one for each group.
Third step: Describe how our government took actions that either protected or limited the rights of each group. Provide specific examples of government actions such as court cases, laws, or other actions (8 points). *
Last step (you are almost there!): Tell me how you feel about these governmental actions

In our country's past, African Americans and Asian Americans have been harshly discriminated against! African Americans were forced to use separated facilities and was justified by the Plessy v. Ferguson case. This case claimed that this would make things "separate but equal." However, things were far from equal. Black schools were worn down and usually a single room in a building. Most black children couldn't read or write well and even the adults weren't properly educated! This lead to whites creating literacy tests that had to be passed in order for people (men) to vote. They created these tests to be on such an educational level that no black man could vote because they weren't as educated as white. These cruel, restricting, and unfair laws and rules continued on for years. The blacks suffered long and hard for every right and freedom they have today. America made a grave mistake to do such to a people just because they're different.

During WW II, when American was fighting against Japan among other nations, America incarcerated thousands of Japanese Americans. These Asian Americans were welcomed into the country willingly as a cheaper source of labor, but soon they were discriminated against. They were seen as a threat, during war against their home country especially, and thrown in massive concentration camps. Laws were passed such as the Miners Tax in 1850 that forced foreign miners in California to pay $20 a month to the government. Another law forced every Chinese immigrant entering into Californian ports to pay a $50 tax. This meant if a family of four came into the ports, they were wrongly forced to pay $200 to the government within three days! This was extremely unfair because they just left their lives behind to enter into a country with greater opportunity than their home country and now have to pay $50 for everyone of them that enters.

Hope this helps! :)

The partition displaced between 10 and 20 million people along religious lines, creating overwhelming refugee crises in the newly constituted dominions. There was large-scale violence, with estimates of the loss of life accompanying or preceding the partition disputed and varying between several hundred thousand and two million.
