History

The Marshall Plan can be seen as a Cold War tactic because the United States federal government tried to prevent the spread of communism through this law.

During the Cold War, the US government adopted a policy of containment. This idea focused around preventing the spread of communism to countries all over the world. One way that the United States planned to do this was by providing financial assistance to countries that were in jeopardy of being taken over by the communist Soviet Union.

This is exactly what the Marshall Plan accomplishes. The United States agrees to give $13 billion in economic aid to countries all over Europe (like Great Britain, France, etc.). This assistance was meant to ensure that each countries capitalist system remained in place.

It was a four year plan executed on 3rd April, 1948. The main of the plan was to reconstruct the war damaged area and eradicate its trade barriers. It also aimed at modernizing the industries, improving European opulence and hindering communism

The Plan money was distributed among the member states on per capita basis. The re -establishment of industries was important for the revival of European economy, so a large amount of aid was given to them. Nations who were loyal to Allied nation received more aid than that was granted to those who were devotee of Axis Forces during the war. The largest legate of the aid was Britain who received 26% of total money followed by France and West Germany to receive 18% and 11 % respectively.

Basically, the Cultural Revolution was that Mao Zedong, the Former Chairman of the Communist Party of China, wanted a classless society. Following this, Mao launched the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution.

His thoughts called<em> 'The Little Red Book'</em> became some sort of Bible for most if not all Chinese Communists. He soon created a group called the 'Red Guards' to go throughout China and eliminate the <em>'Four Olds'</em> which was a term used to refer to the attempts of Communists to destroy Chinese cultures and beliefs.
