Anyone knows that? What is a Limerick?
Softa [21]
A limerick is a particular kind of short poem.  What makes it a limerick
is its unique physical structure:

2 long lines
2 short lines
1 long line.

When you hear one, you know it right away.

Example:

<span>The limerick packs laughs anatomical
<span>Into space that is quite economical.
. . . . . <span>But the good ones I've seen
. . . . . So seldom are clean</span>
</span><span>And the clean ones so seldom are comical.

A number of leading playwrights and authorities on language
have expressed the opinion that a true limerick is always dirty.

Can someone help me do these Tag Questions, please?
RoseWind [281]

Answer:

1.Not only man but also woman ought to come forward to take vaccines, shouldn't they?

2.Little babies have little dream, haven't they?

3.The jury gave its verdict today, didn't he?

4. John and his brothers used to do it, didn't they?

5.Strong will defeated his frustration, didn't it?

6.Long live our motherland, doesn't it?

7.Fish in the pond, doesn't it?

Explanation:

In English it is common to end sentences with another short phrase, with the opposite sign, which is intended to ask for the opinion or seek the approval of the interlocutor: these are called question tags.

To form this short question we will use the auxiliary of the main phrase and its subject but with the opposite sign. If it had no auxiliary then we would use the auxiliary "to do".

If the sentence is affirmative, the question tag is negative and vice versa.

In the case of the verb "ought" it is allowed to use the auxiliary "should", as the verb "ought" is not that so used. But in the first sentence, it would be ok to use "oughtn't" too.

what has caused the English spoken today to be different from the English spoken in earlier centuries.
xz_007 [3.2K]
The English we speak today has roots from multiple different languages such as early French, German, Latin, and others. The meaning of certain words also change over time to adopt new meanings and uses. We speak a different English today than in earlier centuries because our language becomes more complex as we become more complex.
