Because, Bandwagon is a persuasive technique and a type of propaganda through which a writer persuades his readers, so that the majority could agree with the argument of the writer. He does this by suggesting that, since the majority agrees, the reader should too.

In the advertisement it says 'This is today’s hottest technology! Do what the rest of the country is doing and buy one now before you miss out! You don’t want to be the only one in your group without a phone like this, do you?' By saying that it is trying to use a bandwagon type of persuasion.

The persuasive technique used in the example given above is emotional appeal because it is trying to connect with the consumers emotions by asking about the cellphone that they are using. By doing that, they are trying to tell the consumer that their product can give a better service than the current product that they own.
