Answer:

x = 70

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the lines are parallel, x= 30+40 = 70.

Step 1 - Each line between the two parallel lines can be extended out as transversals of the parallel lines. Special angle relationships exist between parallel lines cut by transversals. See the diagrams below for step 1.

Step 2 - This means that Angle 40 by Alternate Interior Angles has a matching 40 degree angle along the transversal. The same is true for Angle 30. See diagram fro step 2.

Step 3 - Mark the congruent angles which match 40 and 30. Since two triangles are formed by the intersection, each triangle must add to 180. Subtract 40+30 = 70 from 180. 180-70 = 110. See diagram for step 3.

Step 4 - Angle x and 110 form a straight angle. This means x added to 110 equals 180. They are supplementary. To find x , x= 180-110 = 70.

In conclusion, int he future x is just the sum of the two angles 30 and 40.

Alright I have a question for all of you! You put $550 in an account that earns 4.4% simple interest per year. How much interest
svetlana [45]
First, converting R percent to r a decimal
r = R/100 = 4.4%/100 = 0.044 per year,
putting time into years for simplicity,
6 months ÷ 12 months/year = 0.5 years,
then, solving our equation

A = 550(1 + (0.044 × 0.5)) = 562.1
A = $ 562.10

The total amount accrued, principal plus interest,
from simple interest on a principal of $ 550.00
at a rate of 4.4% per year
for 0.5 years (6 months) is $ 562.10.
