Hi,

Answer: C. The bare trees looked like parishioners stretching their hands to heaven.

My work: The answer would be C) because Idiom means something said, but not literally meaned. So in this sentence The bare trees looked like parishioners stretching their hands to heaven. It didn’t literally mean look like hands, but the branches.
