After the civil war, she helped in looking for thousands of lost soldiers, as well as classifying the dead in Andersonville prison, Georgia. <span>She got recognized in International Committee of the Red Cross and became the president of the American chapter after being founded on 1881. Until her death on 1912, she continued doing her job both inside and outside America.</span>
