Answer:

The current yield is 5.2% and capital gain is 2.63%.

Explanation:

The par value of bond = $10000

Current price = $9500

Annual coupan payment = 5%

Annual coupan  payment = 10000 × 5% = $500

Now calculate the current yield.

The current yield =  annual coupon payment / current price

The current yield =   500 / 9500 = 0.052 or 5.2%

Now calculate the capital gain. In the question, it says that it starts at $9500 so its original price is 9500.

Capital gain yield = (9750 – 9500) / 9500 = 0.0263 or 2.63%

Nominal GDP increases from year 1 to year 2. Therefore:
Wewaii [24]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Gross domestic product is the total sum of final goods and services produced in an economy within a given period which is usually a year

GDP calculated using the expenditure approach = Consumption spending by households + Investment spending by businesses + Government spending + Net export

Nominal GDP is GDP calculated using current year prices.

If nominal GDP increases, it can be as a result of an increase in price level or an increase in output

for example,

In economy A, price in year 1 is 10 and price in year 2 is 20. Output in both years is 20

Nominal GDP in year 1 = (10 X 20) = 200

Nominal GDP in year 2 = (20 X 20) = 400

It can be seen that nominal GDP increased even though output did not increase

Assume that in economy B, price in year 1 and 2 is 10. Output in year 1 is 100 and output in year 2 is 200

Nominal GDP in year 1 = (10 x 100) = 1000

Nominal GDP in year 2 =  (10 x 200) = 2000

Increase in nominal GDP in this economy is as a result of an increase in output

Answer:

does not achieve a mutually beneficial equilibrium because there is a lack of coordination of the actions of people and businesses

Explanation:

From the question, we are informed about Craig and Kris who were walking directly toward each other in a congested store aisle. Craig moved to his left to avoid Kris, and at the same time Kris moved to his right to avoid Craig. They bumped into each other. This example illustrates the concept of coordination failure and in this case, This idea relates to macroeconomic instability because the economy does not achieve a mutually beneficial equilibrium because there is a lack of coordination of the actions of people and businesses. Coordination failure can be regarded as failure that takes place as a result of group of firms want to achieve a more desirable equilibrium, but resulted to failure as a result of their decision making not been coordinated

swift Oil Company is considering investing in a new oil well. It is expected that the oil well will increase annual revenues by
lianna [129]

Answer: 25.22%

Explanation:

Given that,

Annual revenue = $134,000

Annual expenses = $76,000

Oil well cost = $449,000

Salvage value = $11,000

Annual net income = Annual revenue - Annual expenses

= $134,000 - $76,000

= $58000

Average Investment = \frac{449000 + 11000}{2}

= $230000

Annual rate of return =  \frac{58000}{230000}\times100

= 25.22%
