"His historical researches, however, did not lie so much among books as among men; for the former are lamentably scanty on his favorite topics; whereas he found the old burghers, and still more their wives, rich in that legendary lore, so invaluable to true history. Whenever, therefore, he happened upon a genuine Dutch family, snugly shut up in its low- roofed farmhouse, under a spreading sycamore, he looked upon it as a little clasped volume of black- letter,' and studied it with the zeal of a book- worm."    - " Rip Van Winkle," 1994 edition, 1-2

Answer:

In my opinion I think that the car will not make it into space. Because the heavy metal will melt away in the earths atmosphere, frying the engine leaving the car to fall away into a big body of water or landing on dry land causing a fire. It is a bad campaign.

How does the author compare compulsory voting to a Potemkin facade??
vlada-n [284]

Answer: They both contribute to the country...

So basically, we need someone who can give us hope and get things moving for our environment and country.

Explanation:

Compulsory voting, is also called mandatory voting, is the requirement in some countries that eligible citizens register and vote in elections. Penalties might be imposed on those who fail to do so without a valid reason.

Potemkin is pointing towards the poor and low class citizens.

Ants in your pants what’s mean
IgorLugansk [536]

If you were to have ants in your pants you would be trying to get them out of your pants, right? Who wants ants crawling all on their legs?

When someone tries to get ants off their legs they are likely to be very uncomfortable and wiggly (aka moving around a lot).

When you say someone has ants in their pants it means that figuratively ants are in their pants and that they are acting very uncomfortable and fidgety

Hope this helped!
