I thought I was okay at spanish until I got this question so can you guys help me out

Answer: It appears that you are learning the preterite tense, this is a little different than the present so don't worry!

Bascially instead of a verb such as hablo (I speak) we shall change the suffix in order to put the verb hablar in the preterite tense.

Explanation:

So i'm not going to do your homework for you but i'll walk you through how to put verbs in the preterite.

For -AR verbs we must take off the -AR and do as follows, for an example i'll use the verb hablar again

Yo- Hable (with accent over e, my computer wont allow)

Tu- Hablaste

El,ella,ud.- Hablo (accent over o)

Nosotros- Hablamos

Ellas,Ellos,Uds.- Hablaron

For -ER and -IR verbs (remember they copy each other) it shall be the same thing. This time i'll just do an -ER verb.. i'l use comer.

Yo- Comi (accent over i)

Tu- Comiste

El, Ella, Ud.- Comio (accent over o)

Nosotros- Comimos

Ellos, Ellas, Uds.- Comieron

In number two you have an irregular verb, this being dar (to give)

As you can see Dar is an -AR verb although dar copies the -IR endings so you will see dar as

Yo- Di (accent over i)

Tu- Diste

El, ella, ud.- Dio (accent over i)

Nosotros- Dimos

Ellas, Ellos, Uds.- Dieron

What is different between LA and EL
Dominik [7]
La is the definite article for feminine nouns. Ex: La Fruta: The Fruit (Note: la and fruta both end in "a". That's how you know it's a feminine noun.) For El it is the definite article for masculine nouns. Ex: El Libro: The Book (Note: for el, nouns end in "o")
