The image on a movie poster was shrunk to make the DVD cover art for the movie, so that the cover art is a scale image of the po

Please see the attached image for a visual representation of our scale factor. We can set up this proportion by taking the DVD cover and poster values and placing them in fractions. Cross multiply and divide to solve for x.

The first thing we need to do is find the proportionality constant k. Since we now that the width of a movie poster was shrunk from 36 inches to 6 inches to make the DVD cover, k= \frac{36}{6} =6; therefore, the width of poster was shrunk, in other words divided, by a factor of 6.
Now that we have our proportionality constant lest apply it to the diagonal of the poster to find the diagonal of the DVD cover. But notice that the diagonal of the poster is in feet not inches, so we need to convert 4 feet to inches first. Remember that 1 foot = 12 inches, so lets use that proportion to set up our conversion fraction:
(4feet)( \frac{12inches}{1 foot} )= 48inches
The only thing left now is shrunk, divide, the diagonal by our proportionality constant k
\frac{48}{k} = \frac{48}{6} =8

We can conclude that <span>If the diagonal of the poster is 4 feet, the diagonal of the DVD cover will be 8 inches.</span>

You multiply then solve for y
<span>(–9.7 • 24) • (–0.25) = –9.7 • (24 • y)
</span>-232.8*(-0.25)=-232.8y
58.2=-232.8y
58.2/-232.8=-232.8y/-232.8
y= -0.25

Express each rate as a unit rate. (5points each)
neonofarm [45]
To solve for the unit rate, know that the final answer must be out of 1. Or it is the quantity or amount of something per unit of measurement.

For instance in the above question, the unit rate for 32 teams in 4 divisions would be 8 teams per division.

Likewise for the other question it would be 270/15.

R of breaths of all people in asia in 2016? Expressing your answer in scinentific notation in the form a *10^(b) what are the va
Andrew [12]

Answer:

a = 3.7464

b = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

See attachment for complete question

Required

Express the answer in a * 10^b

From the question, we have:

People = 4.46 * 10^9

Breath = 8.4 * 10^6 breath/person in a year

The number of breath is calculated by:

Overall = People * Breath

So, we have:

Overall = 4.46 * 10^9 * 8.4 * 10^6

Reorder

Overall = 4.46  * 8.4* 10^9 * 10^6

Overall = 37.464* 10^{9+6}

Overall = 37.464* 10^{15}

Using scientific notation a * 10^b;

The value (a) must be in the following interval 0 \le a \le 1

So, we have:

Overall = 3.7464 * 10 * 10^{15

Overall = 3.7464 * 10^{16

By comparing the above with: a * 10^b

a = 3.7464

b = 16
