The number of students in vans and bus are (8,22)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of students in the van be “x”

Let the number of students in the bus be “y”

It is given that each bus and van have same number of students.

For college A-

8 vans and 8 bus were rented to ferry 240 students

No of students in 8 bus= 8y (since y students were in each bus)

No of students in 8 van= 8x (since x students were in each van)

Hence 8x+8y=240 cancelling the equation with common factor 8, the equation becomes ⇒ x+ y=30

For College B

4 vans and 1 bus were rented to ferry 54 students

No of students in 1 bus= 1y (since y students were in each bus)

No of students in 4 van= 4x (since x students were in each van)

4x+y=54

Comparing the both equation we get and subtracting equation 2 from 1

x+y-30-4x-y-54=0 ∵ Cancelling y

-3x=-24

∴ x=8 putting the value of x in equation 1 we get y as 22

Thus the answer is (8,22)

Which two of the following is continuous data?
Alla [95]

Answer:

B. Age of student

D. Time taken to run 1 mile

Step-by-step explanation:

From the list of given options, only B and D satisfy the required condition.

One unique determinant of continuous data is that; they are measured and not counted.

Now, let's categorize option A to D into two

1. Counted data

2. Measured data

Options that fall into the category of measured data are said to be continuous data.

A. Concert attendance; The number of people in a concert is counted

B. The age of a student is measured (in years)

C. Number of pens in a box is counted

D. Time taken to run 1 mile is measured (in units like seconds, minutes, hours, etc...)

In summary; we have

Counted

A. Concert Attendance

C. Number of pens in a box

Measured

B. Age of a student

D. Time taken to run 1 mile

Hence, the continuous data are Age of a student and Time taken to run 1 mile

Sue uses the expression 8x3000+ 8x200+ 8 x 9 to help solve a multiplication problem what is sues multiplication problem
Iteru [2.4K]

we know that

the expression (8x3000+ 8x200+ 8 x 9) is equal to

8*3,000+ 8*200+ 8 * 9 =8*(3,000+200+9)\\ =8*(3,209)\\ = 25,672

therefore

the answer is

Sue's multiplication problem is to find the product of 8 times 3,209 in expanded form
