"To Build a Fire" is a short story by American author Jack London. There are two versions of this story, one published in 1902 and the other in 1908.There's just one little problem: they've got at least nine hours of hiking ahead of them, and it's minus seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit. Like many of his stories, Jack London's "To Build a Fire" takes place in the snowy world of the Yukon, where it's so cold your spit freezes before it even hits the ground. He knows that he'll freeze to death if he doesn't dry his feet, so he tries to build a fire. Unfortunately, a pile of snow fall on the fire, putting it out. By this time, the man's fingers have become frostbitten, and he's unable to build himself another fire. The wolf-dog watches dispassionately as the man dies.London emphasizes the existential theme in “To Build a Fire” in several ways, the most important of which is his selection of the setting in which the story takes place. The story is set in the wilderness of the frozen Yukon during the harsh winter months when “there was no sun nor hint of sun” in the sky (118).
Answer:
An almanac (also spelled almanack and almanach) is an annual publication listing a set of events forthcoming in the next year
Explanation:
It includes information like weather forecasts, farmers' planting dates, tide tables, and other tabular data often arranged according to the calendar. Celestial figures and various statistics are found in almanacs, such as the rising and setting times of the Sun and Moon, dates of eclipses, hours of high and low tides, and religious festivals.
The answer is C- Interrogative. You are asking a question. I always try to remember interrogate is to ask questions.
ANSWER:
The sponge is now dirty.
This is as some of the water and filth from the ground would have transferred onto the sponge. However, not all of the water and filth from the ground would have been transferred onto the sponge meaning that the floor wouldn't be clean. This is as the sponge is far smaller in size comparatively to the floor. As well as this, the sponge was only dropped on part of the floor it wasn't used to scrub the whole floor clean. It also isn't large enough to have the capacity to absorb all the water and filth on the entire surface of the floor.
Hope this helps! :)
Have a lovely day! <3
Answer:
Hispanic men
Middle Eastern men
Native American men
Explanation:
These groups of people are often portrayed as being physically threatening. This is a consequence of the combination of two types of prejudice. First, men are often considered to be more threatening because of their physical strength and personality traits. The second factor is that men who belong to a minority group are often considered to be more threatening than white people (this is also the case for African American men). These prejudices can have a significant impact on the lives of men who belong to these groups.
