How does the word choice from "The Third Wish" shape meaning for the reader?
AnnZ [28]

Answer:

Explanation:

Mr Peter rescued a swan while sailing, the rescued swan turned out to be a king and he honored Mr peter by giving gift. He was given three leave and was told to make wishes with leaves individually and that the wish will be granted. He made a wish to have a wife with the first leave and a lady appeared to her but she was never happy she mostly cry and tells him she misses the swan and her sister. Mr peter made his second wish and her wife returned back to the sea where she belongs.

Mr peter's didn't make use of the third leave he rather let it be and he stated that swan should be swan and human be human.

Mr Peter made a choice to let go and this is to say that it is not all the time we have what we desire there are days we need to make some choices so that some things will be. This is also telling the reader that every creature have been made for a particular place and mostly cannot be altered they will always be a desire to go back to where its originated from.

What does "Civil Disobedience" suggest about the public opinion of tax evasion in Thoreau’s time? Tax evasion was only a moderat
ExtremeBDS [4]
The correct answer is the third option: if allowed to continue, tax evasion was a serious offense. Tax evasion means not paying your taxes, which, during Thoreau's time, resulted in going to jail. This punishment reflects the idea that tax evasion is a serious offense and that offenders should be treated as criminals. Despite these consequences, Thoreau used tax evasion as a form of civil disobedience. For example, he refused to pay his poll tax during the Mexican War as a way to protest the slavery that was still occurring in the United States. Due to his tax evasion, he went to jail until the poll tax was paid.

How can one individual change society?

get quotation from the giver.
andreyandreev [35.5K]
Jonas's community is founded on the idea of Sameness—the elimination of difference in its members. In order to achieve this Sameness, individualism is discouraged, and rules and discipline matter most. Jonas learns from an early age that both breaking rules and being different is considered shameful. By celebrating group birthdays, allowing only one kind of clothing and haircut, assigning spouses, jobs, children and names, and eliminating sexual relations, Jonas's society stifles the things that allow for individual differences. Without mirrors, there can be no vanity or jealousy. Without sex, vanity loses its importance, and competition and conflict are eliminated. In Sameness, no one knows the meaning of loneliness, but no one knows true happiness either. Also messenger was a absolutely good book as well.
