The US and the USSR was very different in many ways:

The primary way was that the US used a market economy, while the USSR used a command economy

Another way was that the US promoted the Democratic way of government, while the USSR promoted a more totalitarian government.

In the US, the people have more power. In the USSR, the government has more power.

These are just some ways they are different.

Read this excerpt from the Supreme Court's Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier majority
faust18 [17]

Answer:

D. Young people have civil liberties, but not to the same degree as  adults.

Explanation:

In the court case of Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier, the Supreme Court decided in favor of the school's decision to censor or omit the pages that seem to be too extreme for the students. The case brought into mind the freedom of the press, especially the freedom to express oneself freely.

The case revolves around the journalism class where the students had written about pregnancy and divorce which the school decided to omit from the whole journal. They took the two pages out from the whole journal and let the rest be published. The school's motive was to prevent the students from learning the true identity of the persons and also prevent the other younger students from reading such inappropriate stories. This act also brings to the fore the issue of the press freedom which seems to be that even though everyone seems to have the same rights, school children have the lesser authority or right over what they can express or write about as compared to the adults.

Some African Americans were permitted to vote following the Revolution, but those rights were later taken away. How were those r
serious [3.7K]

The way in which state governments restricted the vote of African Americans after the American Revolution was through the imposition of discriminatory clauses such as poll taxes, by means of which it was impossible to grant people with fewer resources; literacy tests, by means of which only people with a certain level of education (who were generally only white) could vote; and the demands that the ancestors of the voter be free, which meant that the vast majority of African Americans could not meet this requirement.

These requirements were clearly unjust, discriminatory and unconstitutional, since they violated the freedoms of these people and their right to equality, which in turn are part of the very essence of the United States as a nation.
