Even if they differ on the way how God speaks and shows Himself to the men, both agreed that Jesus and his pretense affirmation that he was the Son of God was not only wrong, but it was a danger to the general faith. So, they were against Christ and his new faith, but especially because they were afraid to lose control over the people.
