Answer:  Britain was recognized by the Nazis that they are to be feared. and they could not Invade to the west anymore (Ireland, Iceland) so the Nazis  focused all efforts to the east (USSR).  Also having access to Britain meant that the Americans and British could fly in range of Germany in their 4 engine Bombers  to attack Germany
