The word that would most likely describe the voice of the book 'The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian would definitely be self-depreciating. Yes, the story is realistic as it is based on a true story but through out the whole book he is critical of him-self and uses humor to hide emotions and depreciate himself. This can be concluded from the text and the illustrations in the book.
