Since train A is going 40 miles per hour by the time train B leaves it has gone 160 miles. You should keep on adding 50 to itself until you get 160 but you can't get exactly 160, you get 150 so add ten. Since we had to add ten, it won't be an exact number. But it takes 5x10 to get 50 therefore 10 would be 1/5 Then you count up how many hours it took to get to 150 then add 1/5 to that. You should get the answer 3 1/5

Write the following as a mathematical sentence. Use the letter n as your variable.
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

n-7=2

Step-by-step explanation:

We can start with one side, which is: seven less than a number

Since the number is n, seven less than it is n-7

The other side 2, as we can see after the word is

The equation, therefore, is

Find the equation of the line that has the given properties. Write the equation in slope-intercept form, if possible.
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

y = (-1/2)x + 9/2

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of a straight line can be written as;

y = mx + c ......1

Where;

m = slope

c = intercept

For two lines to be perpendicular their slope must be opposite reciprocal of each other.

m1 × m2 = -1 .....2

Given;

The equation Contains (3, 3); and perpendicular to the line y = 2x - 1

Slope of the given equation m1 = 2

Slope of the line m2; substituting m1 to equation 2.

2 × m2 = -1

m2 = -1/2

So,

y = (-1/2)x + c

To solve for c, let's substitute the given point on the line; (3,3).

3 = (-1/2)(3) + c

3 = -3/2 + c

c = 3 + 3/2

c = 9/2

Therefore, the equation of the line that has the given properties is;

y = (-1/2)x + 9/2
