Operant Conditioning Therapy:

Using the principles of operant conditioning (reward and punishment), psychologists can set up token economies with their client. Tokens (objects with no worth) are rewarded for good behavior and can be exchanged for something in the future. This is often a technique used with children.

Behavioral contracting occurs when the therapist draws up a contract specifying the responsibilities and behavioral expectations of each party, and obliging each party to live up to their terms of the contract. The client must follow the instructions of the therapy and the therapist in turn will give the client certain things.

In your option is avoiding an effective conflict management strategy? Why or why not?
gayaneshka [121]
It sometimes is and sometimes isn’t. The issue is when avoidance becomes the standard reaction to a stressor or conflict. Avoidance in general is good short term, but it is a better thing to confront the problem. Otherwise you will have the problem fester.
