How can government be characterized by power and freedom with consideration given to an authoritarian and totalitarian forms of
Anna71 [15]

The way the US government is setup gives people the ability to vote for representatives who, in turn vote for the president, as opposed to a totalitarian or authoritarian government, in the governments the leaders are brought into power by blood or military force and even if elections take place, they are often rigged. The us’s democratic setup gives us power, we are given rights to make proposition which turn into bills which eventually turn into laws if enough support is given. The citizens of a democracy are given a voice about laws, leaders and culture. Freedom of speech, press etc. allow us to make change.
