The domino theory states the belief that once one nation (Turkey and Greece at the time) falls to Communism, all countries surrounding it will fall to Communism as well. It's called the domino theory because once one nation fell, a chain reaction would occur causing many other nations to fall with it, like dominos.
President Eisenhower believed in the domino theory, which states that if one country becomes communist, than other countries will follow. He applied his theory to world politics.
