The Bandwagon Fallacy

Just because something is popular does not mean that it is right or good.

The Hasty Generalization Fallacy

Someone draws expansive conclusions based on inadequate or insufficient evidence. In other words, they jump to conclusions.

Native and English colonial groups traded many goods and ideas. Identify the goods and ideas Indians shared with the colonists
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

Furs and Animal skins, Native Farming techniques, free an uncultivated land.

Explanation:

The french and English fishermen were the first Europeans to trade with the native Americans. The fisherman who were fishing off the coast of northeastern Canada traded with the Indians, the Indians received European manufactured metal cooking utensils, cloth and guns. In return European used to get fur.

In those days fur was used in garments industry and was worn by the wealthy. Beaver fur was used to make belts and hats. The demand for fur was high in Europe but the beavers were extinct there, but it was plentiful in North America.

The fur trade was so lucrative that many fisherman stopped fishing and made voyages to North America solely to trade in furs, even before the area explorers such as Giovanni Cabot, Cartier and Christopher Columbus,Cabot, Cartier and Christopher Columbus.

They also helped the first English settlers by teaching them how to plant crops and survive on the land, but they were unaware that the colonialists wanted to colonise the lands. Hopi, Navajo and Cherokee tribes were expert farmers.

What can be helpful or harmful depending on point of view ?
posledela
Medicine. Most of the things we consider medicine are only helpful if we're already in bad condition, taking medicine while being completely fine can have terrible side effects on your body.
Democracy, it keeps away a tyrannical overlord from controlling the control, but sometimes it's impossible for different sections of government to agree on certain things, and this prolongs the process sometimes making democracy seem a little unreliable compared to the fast paced solidified decision of a single ruler.
Eating. Doing anything in excess can be harmful, but especially eating in the case of most Americans. Even with the health reforms of today, and dietary programs, many Americans are obese and suffer from type 2 diabetes simply from over-eating.
Those are just three examples I could think of.

Which of the challenges that the United States faced in this period do you feel was the most serious?
Darya [45]

I love the United States, and I love what it means to be an American. But let's face it, whether you think that America is the greatest country in the world or not, you're probably right. There are many things that make America a great place to live, but there are a number of issues which we face, and will continue to face, that are sending us down a road towards mediocrity (and even failure).

In a country where our discourse was once divided, and has now scattered into a spiderweb of varying political thought, we are faced with a great deal of political issues - some more important than others. Addressing these 10 issues specifically would allow the United States to lead by example, and inevitably restore America to what once made it great.

1. Another Housing Crisis

The result of government mismanagement and bad business practices, the sub-prime mortgage crises (or the Housing Bubble Burst) became the major cause of economic downturn for the United States in 2007 and 2008. The Federal Reserve has decided to double down on these policies, by spending billions of dollars a month to buy up mortgage backed securities. Peter Schiff says this is an attempt to re-inflate the bubble that already burst, and could cause another collapse of similar proportions.

2. Marriage Rights

Despite supposedly having the support of our current president, very little has been done in the way of legalizing gay marriage in this country. While this may not appear to be a major issue to everyone, it is a civil rights issue where the United States is well behind the curve. Marriage is a right, not a privilege, and should be guaranteed to all consenting adults. It is time for both parties to lay down partisanship, step over bigotry, and get the ball rolling.
