One of the composers who contributed to the program music would be Ludwig Van Beethoven. Beethoven was reluctant to create a program music but he was able to create Symphony No. 6 which was centred on the pastoral life of many people during the 19th century. He also has written Piano Sonata Op. 81a<span>, </span><span>Les Adieux which talks about goodbyes.</span>
Richard Wagner was another composer in the 19th<span> century to reckon with. </span>He's primarily<span> known for his </span><span>operas </span>and<span> some of his later works were "music drama". He fundamentally</span> changed opera through his concept of the Gesamtkunstwerk ("total work of art"), by which he sought to produce the poetic, visual, musical and dramatic arts, with music subsidiary to drama.<span> </span>
