Answer:

This is the length of the leg of the second triangle = 13.6 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Since two isosceles triangles have congruent base angles. So Triangle - 1 is similar to triangle - 2.

So ratio of length to base of first triangle is equal to the  second triangle.

⇒ \frac{l_{1} }{b_{1} } = \frac{l_{2} }{b_{2} }  --------- (1)

Given that

⇒ l_{1} = 17 cm , \ b_{1} = 10 cm , \ b_{2} = 8 cm

Put all these values in equation (1) we get

⇒  \frac{17}{10}  = \frac{l_{2} }{8}

⇒ l_{2} = 13.6 cm

This is the length of the leg of the second triangle.

A worker in a silver mine descends 60 feet. Use an integer to represent the change in the worker's position.
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

-60

Step-by-step explanation:

If the worker is descending, he is going down. The change in his position could be marked on a graph by translating the original point down by 60 units. Aka -60 units.

Please Help!!! Determine the intercepts of the line that corresponds to the following table of values.
Orlov [11]

Answer:

y-intercept is (0,30); x-intercept is (52.5,0).

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that as x increases by 7 from -35 to -28,   y decreases by 4 from 18 to 14.  Thus, the slope of this line is

m = rise / run = -4/7.

Let's find the equation of the line.  Start with the slope-intercept form:

y = mx + b.  Use the slope m = -4/7 and the point (-28, 14) to find b:

14 = -(4/7)(28) + b, or

14 = -16 + b.  Then b = 30, and the equation of the line in slope-intercept form is y = (-4/7)x + 30.  The y-intercept is (0, 30).

Find the x-intercept by setting y=0 and solving the resulting equation for x:

y = (-4/7)x + 30 becomes (4/7)x = 30, and x = (7/4)(30) = 214, or 52.5.

The x-intercept is thus (52.5, 0).

"cube has a volume of 125 cubic inches. What is the length of each edge?"
s2008m [1.1K]
5. Each side is equal and you need to find what number times itself 3 times gets 125, which in this case is 5. 5x5x5= 125, which means 5 is the correct answer.
