48 (option B) votive candles are needed to fill the candle mold, If she would like to melt votive candles and reuse the wax.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given is,

              Cylindrical candle mold that is 8 inches high with a diameter of  3 inches.

               Votive  candle is a sylinder with a height or 1.5 inches and a radius of 0.5 inch.

Step: 1

               Formula to calculate the volume of cylinder,

                        Volume, V = \pi r^{2} h.................................(1)

               Where, r - Radius of cylinder

                           h - Height of cylinder

                           \pi  = 3.1415

Step: 2

              For the Candle mold,

                         Diameter, D = 3 inches

                              Radius, r = \frac{d}{2}

                                              = \frac{3}{2} = 1.5

                                            r = 1.5 inches

              Equation (1) becomes,

                        V_{Candle mold}  = \pi (1.5)^{2} (8)

                                           = (3.1415)(2.25)(8)

                                           = 56.547 cubic inches

Step: 3

             For the Votive candle,

                                            r = 0.5 inches

                                           h = 1.5 inches

              Equation (1) becomes,

                        V_{Candle mold}  = \pi (0.5)^{2} (1.5)

                                           = (3.1415)(0.25)(1.5)

                                           = 1.1780625 cubic inches

Step: 4

            No. of votive candles are needed to fill the candle mold,

                                                     =  \frac{Volume_{candle mold} }{Volume _{Votive candles} }

                                                     = \frac{56.547}{1.1780625}

                                                     = 48

             No. of votive candles are needed to fill the candle mold = 48

Result:

            48 (option B) votive candles are needed to fill the candle mold, If she would like to melt votive candles and reuse the wax.

Question 10: If the product of all the numbers from 1 to 100 is divisible by 2^n, then what is the maximum possible value for n:
Klio2033 [76]

Answer: D

Step-by-step explanation:

100!=2*3*4*...*100

Counting which numbers are divisible by 2:

2,4,6,8,10,12,14,...,96,98,100 : 50 numbers (100/2=50)

Counting which numbers are divisible by 4=2²:

4,8,12,16,20,...96,100: 25 numbers (100/4=25)

Counting which numbers are divisible by 8=2³:

8,16,24,32,40,...,96: 12 numbers (100/8=12.5 ==> 12)

Counting which numbers are divisible by 16=2⁴:

16,32,48,...,96: 6 numbers (100/16=6.25 ==> 6)

Counting which numbers are divisible by 32=2⁵:

32,64,96 : 3 numbers(100/32=3.125 ==>3)

Counting which numbers are divisible by 64=2⁶:

64 : 1 number (100/64=1.5625 ==>1)

Sum of those numbers= 50+25+12+6+3+1=97

100! is divisible by 2⁹⁷.

A gets 5 parts and I gets 8 parts
So 5+8=13. A will get 5/13 parts of the total
5/13*32(total)=12.3 since he can’t get .3 we round and Amir gets 12 leaving 20 for Isaac.
