Globalized societies trade food in international trade and are subject to possible contamination if the country of origin does not take adequate sanitary measures. For example, a country that imports pork may be infected with swine flu if the exporting country does not take proper care of meat processing. To prevent such problems from occurring, the importing country must require the exporting country to comply with international health regulations, which consist of a set of measures and precautions to avoid contamination. Product samples can be analyzed before distribution to the population.
