Answer:

There are no natural lakes in Maryland, in part because there weren't any glaciers in Maryland during the Ice Age.

Explanation:

The subject-verb agreement refers to a fact that it is a grammar rule that when we are writing a sentence, both subject and verb have to be singular or plural, so they have to agree in number, and that`s how we get the word agreement in this sense.

In the given sentence natural lakes (subject) are in plural form, so the verb that refers to them has to be in the plural too. And as we can see, the verb to be is in its singular form - is, so we have to change it to the plural form are in order to have a correct sentence without errors.

Answer: Pathos is a persuasive technique in which the speaker appeals to the emotions of the audience.

Explanation:

Ethos, pathos and logos are different persuasion techniques that the author employs to convince the audience.

Ethos (also ethical appeal) is the author's attempt to persuade the audience of author's credibility.

Logos (the appeal to logic) is the use of logic to convince the audience.

Rebuttal is speaker's attempt to come up with the evidence for why a particular argument is not valid.

Imagery has been vividly used in this excerpt. The light and dark have been used in symbolizing the good and evil things in that order Gandalf is the white that stands for good deeds. When Galadriel gives Frodo the Phial, this symbolizes the light that came during the darkest time.

The black rider stood for evils and everything that Mordor had covered with the blackness of shadowy. Each time Naqul passed near the overhead, the sun and moon became black.
