Advances in technology in the European Age of Exploration made possible for explorers to travel across the sea. Two examples of the many innovations could be the <em>Caravel</em>, a small to medium sized ship that was mostly used for fishing and exploring since it was fast and easy to maneuver, and the <em>Magnetic Compass</em> that helped explorers know what direction they were headed so they could reach their destination.
